Novell Filr 1.2, the latest version of Novell‘s file sharing and file management solution, is released! The new version is equipped with a number of enhancements, bug fixes and new features. The new features strongly focus on security aspects, especially password security and login protection. Of course, Filr users get their share of improvements, too, based on customer feedback.
Security features in Filr 1.2
- Support for Single Sign-On with KeyShield
- Ability to deter brute-force attacks with CAPTCHA
- Ability to require complex passwords for local and external users
New features for users in Filr 1.2
- Download all folder content information as a CSV file
- Mark all entries in a folder as read or unread
Features for Filr 1.2 administrators:
- Microsoft SharePoint 2013 integration*
- Support for multiple administrators (LDAP and local users)
- Simplified conflict resolution for the Desktop Client
- Enhanced audit log management and activity reports
*Note that the licensing and pricing has changed and the SharePoint integration for Filr 1.2 will not be included in the regular license. To use this feature you will need to purchase an enhanced Filr license.
