New security updates for Filr 3.0 and Filr 2.0 have been released by Micro Focus on December 13th, 2016. The patches provide a Security Update for the Kernel Local Privilege Escalation (Dirty COW) vulnerability in Filr (CVE-2016-5195).

Important Notes:

  • This patch is applicable to the Filr, Filr Search and Filr MySQL appliances.
  • Run the pre-install script on each Filr, Filr Search and Filr MySQL appliance prior to applying the patch.
  • This patch will NOT be available via the Filr Online Update channel.
  • This pre-install script may take more than 5 minutes to install, DO NOT interrupt the installation until complete.
